-Removing clutter helps to make your home look larger and helps a potential buyer to picture their own belongings in your home.
Kitchen:
- Remove fridge magnets and have nothing hanging on the refrigerator like kids’ art work, invitation, etc.
- Remove kitchen towels
- Clear counter tops; no clutter
- Clear away small appliance such as toasters, blenders and coffee machines
- No pots or pans on the stove top or counter
- Remove trash can
- Remove kitchen mats
Bathroom & Laundry:
- Remove toiletries from vanity and shampoo bottles, etc; from the shower/bathtub. No bath products out
- Clean mirrors
- Remove laundry baskets and trash cans
- Remove the bath mats
- Have towels hanging or folded neatly
- Close shower curtain
- Toilet lids down
Living Areas:
- Remove any photographs- minimal accessories on tables.
- Remove baskets/containers that have magazines, throw blankets, etc.
- Remove some furniture and rugs in a small spaces. It will make the house appear bigger.
- Remove any items that might offend potential buyers (political, animal heads, etc.)
- Remove pet bowls, bedding, kennels, liter boxes, etc.
Bedrooms: When it comes to accessories on a table, less is more. No more than 2 per table.
- Make the beds
- Pack away any kid toys
- Clear any tables tops of toiletries, photos and clothing
- Remove any valuable items and place them in a safe place.
- Open drapes or blinds
External:
- Garage doors closed
- No cars in the driveway or in the front of the house
- Put bicycles, hose, garden tools and pool accessories in the garage
- Put trash cans out of sight
- Clean pool (if applicable)
- Arrange patio furniture neatly (if applicable)
