Had a tenant leave my investment property recently and decided it was time to offload it. Having worked with Evan in the past, he was the first call I made. Regarding the purchase of our home, I cannot begin to explain how PERFECT the two agents were. Selling our home was a cake walk for them, but we really put them through the ringer when purchasing a home, in which they excelled and went above every one of our expectations. If you have the time, read below to see how amazing they were in navigating a tricky situation and making sure we were 100% satisfied with our purchase. If you don’t, know that Evan and Laurel bent over backwards to make sure we found the perfect home! They were so dedicated, supportive, and truly cared about making sure we completely fell in love with our new home!
I want to explain our situation, so you can truly understand how amazing they are! When looking for a new home we were in a different situation as most buyers. After leaving a “cookie-cutter” neighborhood my husband and I wanted something more unique, but also traditional. We weren’t interested in a new build. We wanted an older home that provided more character, but we didn’t have the budget nor the desire to renovate. Both agents warned us of the issues related to older homes and let us know it might be difficult to find exactly what we wanted, but we were willing to take the risk and they were willing to take on the difficult task! After looking at about 15 self-selected homes, we found a home we loved, put in an offer, and proceeded until we then retracted our offer due to issues with items on the inspection report related to the age of the home. (All of which we were warned about!) Evan and Laurel were so understanding and while they were more than willing to work on negotiations concerning repairs, we felt that it was just too much to take on and weren’t prepared to deal with safety issues related to old electrical wiring and galvanized piping!
After this experience, we altered our desires and started focusing on a newer build. With their guidance, we were able to find a great home in an amazing neighborhood and placed another offer. Once again issues arose during the inspection, and we realized the home needed a new roof. Evan and Laurel went above and beyond to negotiate the replacement for us. The situation was difficult due to it being an estate sell, so the negotiations took quite some time due to the sellers as well as contractors visiting the home while the nation was dealing with Covid 19, but we are so grateful that it did!
During the option period, which we had to extend due to the sellers and the virus, an older home in a well-established neighbor popped up on the market with tons of character and looked to be everything we wanted. Laurel immediately made plans to show the home (during quarantine and maintained social distance) in which we instantly fell in love with! Laurel and Evan quickly retracked our offer on the pending home and presented the new sellers with a lower offer that reflected the sales in the area and was ultimately accepted. (Once again, Laurel and Evan were so kind and supportive concerning the retracted offer and had no complains about the extra workload we caused them!) As expected, there were also issues that arose in the inspection due to the age of the home (electrical, structural, and some appliances) in which Evan and Laurel worked to ensure all major concerns were replaced or repaired by the sellers. They spent so much of their time negotiating these items and fought for us to ensure we were moving into a home that was not only safe, but exactly what we

I am glad that I found Evan. He and his team were professional. I live in another state but I flew to Houston and met Evan in person. My house required a lot of work after my tenants left it in pretty bad shape. Evan recommended me good contractors who made an excellent job at reasonable prices. Evan feels very comfortable with modern digital real estate technology and made very appealing advertising of my house. We had a lot of showings. He also was very helpful to me in answering any related questions and concerns. The closing happened during the outbreak of the COVID-19, but we managed to close the deal. I met Evan Nov, 2019, found his name online when I was interviewing for agents to sell my home. He WAS the ONLY agent that said that if he was going to be the agent for this property, he would highlight the size of the property before the home itself. I had a 6,000 sq ft piece of land with a 1698 sq ft house on it, so needless to say the backyard was huge. But he was the only one that said he could get the price I wanted!

The house sold Feb. 2020 and I only drop the asking price by $5K! While there was several issues surrounding the buyer and his agent, both Laurel and Evan were there for me every step of the way. We interviewed Evan as well as 2 other realtors. Even though Evan wasn't the most experienced of the 3, we found that he was the most interested in showing our property and displayed a "go get it" attitude. We weren't disappointed. We had our triplex under contract within 1 week after multiple offers above asking price. That deal fell through, but Evan had it under contract again just 1 week later and we sold at list price. I couldn’t recommend Evan and his team more highly. Before we were fortunate enough to be able to work with Evan on our buying needs, we began our home search with a different agent, and the whole thing was a bit of a nightmarish experience. Evan is the most impressive and attentive agent I've met. He made the entire process a breeze, which is hard to do when purchasing a home. I do a lot of research and homework before I make any decision and sometimes I even second guess if I made the best choice, but buying my home with Evan as my realtor was the best decision I've made. He provided me with even more unbiased information about things that I thought I knew everything about. He was an expert in every aspect and was very comfortable dealing with the builder and constantly keeping in contact throughout all 7 months. To give a great example of the quality of agent Evan is...There was a home near Jersey Village I was VERY interested in viewing. It had came on the market that morning. Evan drove from another showing on the South side in RUSH HOUR traffic up 290 so I could view the home. He even climbed in the attic and pointed out several things that would come up on the inspection report. Gave me a great idea that I could eventually knock down a wall to make it more open concept...and, then helped me work up an offer that would interest the sellers.

Where do I begin? We are not new to home buying and selling experience. We have owned sold homes in the past and dealt with Realtors that until now seem sub-par compared to Evan. Evan is a top-notch agent that really, really puts his best foot forward and makes sure his clients are 100% about the choices made from selling price to buying price and home selection. We started our selling and buying journey in April of this year and closed on a home until September. We were not the easiest clients but Evan was always positive and professional. Never once did he lose his cool and always stuck to his guns. Had we followed his lead, we probably would have sold and closed a lot sooner. We encountered a home from a Relocation company that we decided not to pursue, we dealt with a home we inspected, we were excited about that didn't appraise and another home we changed our minds on a few times ( we were very indecisive ). Long story short, we ended up with an amazing home, zoned to the schools we desired, on a great huge private lot. Through the entire process, never once did Evan rush us or seem pushy. He made sure we were always 100% on everything, every step of the way. He is an amazing negotiator and will use his expertise push for the best. He was always available 24/7 answering calls and emails (even while traveling) . If for some reason there were conflicts in his schedule, he made sure someone was always available to show us homes. He helped us both in Houston and Sugar Land, so he covers all the surrounding Houston area. I recommend Evan to all family and friends. Evan's personality is easy to like. After a frustrating and disillusioning many months of trying to work with 5 different realtors in Houston (I live in Austin) my daughter found Evan and within a short period of time I had a new home in Houston. I found Evan after a long search online as I was moving from Boston to Houston and had very little time to make the trip and look at properties. Evan's Yelp reviews caught my eye and I gave him a call the next day. From the first point of contact until close, Evan was responsive to calls and emails. He found properties that matched our specifications and upon our first visit, we found a house we loved and had an offer in to the seller the same day. The process was fast, efficient, easy, and Evan was able to negotiate very well for us.
